Guerrilla War : amazing old skool arcade game

Almost 20 years ago, I used to play this game in the local sports centre and put far too much of my pocket money in there, especially just to get past the first level, which was NAILS!
Remembered it this week and decided to track it down, which was especially difficult because the only thing that remembered about it was that it had two blokes, top down view and a special rotating joystick.
> First I found rotating joysticks for arcade games…
> Then that a game called Ikari Warriors (wikipedia) was the first to use rotating joysticks. Close but no cigar. (wow - “Ralf and Clark also make an appearance as playable characters in Metal Slug 6 and Metal Slug 7 .” How are we on MS6 and MS7 already?!)
> Then I found that SNK made a clone of Ikari Warriors in 1987… called Guerrilla War… GOT IT!
Already installed MAME on the Mac and am playing the hacked version which means you don’t need the rotating joystick… But one day I’d really like to get the proppa hardware! You really need to be able to strafe around properly to kill the dudes hiding behind stuff!
